My wife is at a baby shower for her niece. She has always had a "one dead deer in the living room at a time" rule. We have one in our son's room. There was a compromise on my last buck. He is in the living room but we moved my 2010 buck to the dining area. I was very blessed to kill another mount worthy buck this year. Not sure what the reaction will be when she gets home, but there are two in the living room now.

Our house was added onto and is an open/flowing floorpan by design. This is how I drew it up and what we wanted. I think it allows for mounting them on the walls this way without looking too horribly tacky. What do you guys think?

Pic one is from the TV on west wall looking towards our front door where you see my 2014 Buck. Pic two is from the east wall of our living room and by the 2014 buck looking back at the TV to see my 2013 buck. Pic three is standing by the 2013 buck and TV looking north towards my 2010 buck. Too much? Thoughts on how the Mrs will react? Haha

Looks great Phil! Sometimes you have to take a kids advice and just tell her "I forgot" about the rule LOL

Picked up my 13yr old daughter from the shower early so I could get her to softball conditioning. She walked in. She looked at me. She had one of those looks as she said to me "Dad! You know there's a storm a coming when Mom gets home, don't you?" :smiley_crocodile:

Fortunately, I was not around when my wife walked in the door. She had a chance to digest it a little before we discussed it. Looks like it is staying where I put it, but it might cost me a few hundred. She said all the DVD's, Wii games, and CD's under the TV look tacky already. She wants something to organize/hide them under the TV in exchange for the deer staying there. I agreed because I had already been thinking the same thing since we got the new TV. Just haven't had time to go shop for something to tidy up all the stuff. Guess tomorrow we are going shopping. lol

I tell my wife that when I get my shop built out back, I'll move everything out to it… We both know that the shop will probably never come. She is making me move it all to another room when I get my buck from this year back though...

Update: for those of you still following along, I do believe I have won this battle. All the DVDs and clutter in the picture showing the 2013 buck and TV? Yup. Bought momma an entertainment center to go under the TV to hide all that noise. In my opinion, this is a double win for me. I thought the klutter looked tacky as well. Now we have a second deer head in the living room, the wife is happy, and we have a nicer looking more organized mess. Lol

A different house more conducive to mounting deer heads? A trophy room added on for me. . . .so she can have the rest of the house back? A ticket to Hawaii she has been begging for? She likes the new Chargers and Challengers.

Ugh. Those all sound well outside my price range Gern. There are four now. Two in living room. One in my son's room. One by the back door in the dining area. I really am out of places. I feel I am pushing the limits of "tastefully done" now. Adding a few more isn't going to work. I cannot afford anymore of my wife's wants. lmao

looks great Phil.

Since you killed that deer Ive got a sense you've talked that buck down. I told you when you killed it, that thing is a freaking GREAT buck. Im happy you beat the wife on the 2 buck rule. Happy Wife, happy life.......that's what people tell me at least! hahaha
