Get those active cylinders shut off! Lots of different brands do it but only a couple actually do what is needed. I am not in that world to know which one to suggest.

It plugs into the OBD-II plug. They have cam problems on the cylinders that turn off. I have had multiple. Current 5.3L Tahoe has neatly 400k. On it’s second motor.
They had issues with them. Seems crazy to need to disable factory settings to make them last longer. The chip will not prevent lifter failure. It happened to my 2015 twice with the chip. Only a full mechanical delete can disable AFM. Fack, I miss that truck.
That's 3, counting yours twice. The trans went out on my son's 2017 Sierra. Two catastrophic fails in one family.
