I do not care what anyone says about a magic week or a magic day... There is no truth to any of it. The deer are going to breed sometime between October 21-November 31'st. You just need to be there as much as you can during this time. Find your pinch point or the edge of the bedding area and hunt. A lot of people miss out on some great hunting in the middle of December also.
I totally agree T! Those on limited time just need to choose their vacations wisely! I don't feel temps and weather are as important as picking the right stand/areas in which to hunt. Using your TCs can help tell you where your best bucks are spending most of their time and what time they are there but caution must be used when pulling the cards.
Sure we'd all like to sit on a cool crisp high pressure day with a slight steady breeze in a favorable set but rutting activity is going to happen regardless of the conditions and if you're in the right spot then hopefully you'll get your shot opportunity and make it count.
Last year I was in the right spot two days in a row and saw a lot of rutting activity from 10 am till 3 but the 3 weeks before that I got skunked 14 straight hunts because they just weren't on the farm I was hunting. That's why we all need more than one place to hunt.
