You guys were the first group of guys I have ridden with who needed to use winches. Y'all are spoiled. We used to just pull them out by hand, dig them out, or hook a strap to another bike or quad.

I didn't need a winch to help me on that Raptor, and these guys have 4×4's!
 
It was just a new experience for me. Don't get me wrong- I'm glad they had some winches. Just never seen a need for it in the past. We usually had guys on quads like yours Chad. I'm thinking it was simply the result of lower clearance and heavier quads.

Probably, those mud pits were deep, sloppy shit that just suck you right in.

The machines are heavier, the holes are deeper than when you were a kid Phil...lol
