2017 Random shed thread

Most people won't believe this is the same buck due to the nontypical side but holding the two typical sides in hand they are identical in main beam shape, quality of deer, tine size, mass, and burr/pedicle. Also found on same property. I believe this deer was non typ on one side the year before then went back to typical. I will forever be wondering what that broken off main beam on the non typ side looked like.

Thanks for showing the additional photos... Amazing deer... Any trail cam pics of him on the hoof??

I can see enough resemblances that I can see it being the same deer. He could have been injured. A perfect example of a deer with the right stuff!

What's the timeline of these two sets as they were picked up and how close were they found Seth? They are very similar and the pedicles and beading even have some similarities but I'm wondering now if you found sets from father and son.

Definitely similarities there! I am more inclined to believe its father and son as well.
Just think.... what you got to look forward TOO.:)

The dark set was found in 2012 and the light set was found in 2014 but it was from the 2013 buck. The sets were found on the same parcel of ground a few hundred yards apart.

Then there's a great chance it's the same deer then. He made a very nice jump as well! Kinda reminds me of TG8 in some aspects. He went from 59.5" to 74.5 in one year and was also a main frame 4x4. Both deer with the right stuff.

The only difference was this deer was a year or two older, imo. I believe TG8 shed I found was from his 2.5 old age and I shot him at 3.5 years of age.

I would defantly say same genetics, maybe father and son, or brothers off the same buck,
Non the less you have got something to hunt this fall, if they survive till then.
I'd be running trail cams all year at random places to watch them grow that head set.
Do you have any trail cam pics of this buck, Would like to see him with full set holding.

If that's the case.... I say it's the same buck! I was under the impression that the brown bone was a rescent find.
IMO... it's a slam dunk 100% the same beast! Lol

3.5 and 74.5 inches is something special. Sadly I've never heard of the buck these sheds came from. I would really have liked to known what came of him. He sure provided some great memories for my dad and I in the shed woods.

I just did some driving in my hot spots. Seen 17 bucks still holding. By far, the best "deer drive" I had all season. Seen plenty of deer of all sizes. I was able to put glass on all the deer, one of them bucks was damn impressive!

Good stuff Giles! Hope you can get some permission and find some of them!

Not what I wanted to hear! I think I'm headed up to Ohio after work today. Been way to long since I walk them hills. Might turn into a scouting more than a shed hunting trip.

X2. They are there

Buddy just scored this set in the last hour. 20 yards apart. They look a bit chewed. I'll see them sometime very soon
