Been thinking about it. Probably a month out for me. Need to get through the next week or so of snow. Be nice to get in some more coyote hunting too. I'd prefer to do some coyote killing but only doing the hunting part so far.

I wonder if this fluctuating weather will play a part in things. Gonna warm up a bit this weekend, I might go for a walk before the ground thaws and makes a real mess of things again.

Im new on here but have kept up with these shed hunting forums on here, got to say really enjoy reading all the post and getting some knowledge. I was in athens and perry county last week seen several bucks still holding both sides. i was checking on getting a new lease, both days i was out there was fresh snow about 2 inches on the ground hard to see any old ones but got lucky and came accross the first set of the year and got my first hanger never found one like that till this past weekend

Quite the welcome lol pretty good bunch of people on this site, still trying to get the site figured out, i have followed these threads for past couple years, never really paid much attention to where the antlers have been found. I was curious if any of you guys ever shed hunted much public land and if so, have ya done much good?

Me and a buddy shed hunted for two days on public....I got skunked but he found a 74” five point side. The following year, I found three sheds within ten minutes but that was on private. I know a lot of locals on here do pretty well. I did find a six point dead head a few years back on public but it had been there for a few seasons.

Welcome aboard!
Personally I hunt private lands, but I know some shed heads that hunt public with good to great success. Their advice to me was to go deep as you can away from easy access.
Good luck this season
