2021-2022 SHED HUNTING

Well I hate to start off such a fun thread with bad news but I have found a couple sheds from a buck I let walk on my property this year. I can safely say I don’t think this deer is going to make it through season… have had this deer on camera since last year when I moved into this property and watched him put on 25 inches over this last summer… I found his sheds tonight after checking my trail cameras down in the bottom and his health has declined rapidly.. BUT, I did find my first sheds of this season so I’m off to a great start. Don’t know if this deer got hit by a car, has an infection, or a disease but I do know he looks like shit…. That sucks. I agree, he ain’t going to make it. Looks like he has no meat at all along the backbone. If you still have a tag, I’d consider putting him out of his misery. I hate seeing an animal suffer.

I definitely agree. I’m thinking he got tagged by a car. Going to get ahold of my neighbors and inform them of the situation and put a hit out for him… a BOLO if you would…

Pictures/ video of him from December 2nd and 4th. I roughly taped his antlers and going off an 18 inch spread, which is on the safe side he would have been right around 158-160

Oh he’s no where near the biggest buck I have on camera nor the most dominant buck

Just saddening. Last year we lost a mid 150s split g2 on both sides buck to the neighbors who have a a vacation rental. He got hung up in rope that the guy had around his pines…. And this year this guy gets clipped by a car or something and is soon to be dead if he isn’t already… just makes you wonder how often shit like this happens and deer disappear that we never knew were there…..

Over here drinking at the neighbors on this lovely evening! He showed me the first shed he ever found on his property here from 12 years ago…. This side scored 82 7/8! What a damn monster!
