With so much craziness in the world, I figured I would attempt to start a thread focused around TOO members optimistic goals for 2021!

I will start, please note - I am imperfect, so my list of 5 should probably be 100 but I need to start somewhere.

1. As many of you know, I am becoming a Daddy this year - I have set out the goal to be more patient. I want to strive to be an even better husband and great father.

2. Work/Life balance - I am a man who loves to work. I sometimes have trouble disconnecting. Hell even during Gun season, I bring my laptop and answer emails every evening, while the rest of the family is enjoying cold ones around the fireplace. I plan to ease up on some of this in 2021, and truly enjoy my time off.

3. Become a better archer - I love shooting my bow, I simply am not one who is naturally gifted- I need to work hard at things. I am ok, but I want to be better. I have learned so much of the years from guys on here like Jim, Brock, Milo and Jesse - I plan continue to fine tune my form and kill more foam in 2021, hopefully plenty of deer come 2021 fall.

4. Learn more - I hope to read more books, listen to more podcasts, write more. Specifically, I would like to learn more about the topics in which I am interested, I am enamored with soil health so I plan to put a continued focus there. My profession has me in sales/business/mfg. so I plan continue to learn more about all of these topics through all the channels of information I described above.

5. Care less - as with most of you all, I love whitetails. I just plan to care less about "A" buck this year vs. years past. I am exhausted of worrying about if a 4 year old made it to 5 and so on. I want to care less, hunt my hunt and enjoy creation more.

1. First goal, my biggest for 2021 as well. Get both my boys on quality bucks with an xbow. I took this year so personal being my first year in Ohio and wanting to get after some really mature, quality bucks and have neglected the kids wants for getting into the woods more often. My youngest son took his first buck this year with his 20ga but older son got a bit jealous only harvesting a doe. Down in Florida hog hunting was one of their favorite things to do and now I have to transition them to the northern way of life.
2. Second goal. Focus more on being a more family man as well as a better husband. being more patient in all aspects of life including hunting goes a long way and I truly need to focus on that.
3. Third goal. Live in the moment and don’t take things for granted. Being 26, somethings just blow right over your head that are so important and mean a lot to people but being that I’m a younger guy sometimes I brush things off. Being more focused on the little things in life and enjoying every moment, that’s what matters the most.
4. Fourth goal. I have many more goals but I’ll finish on a hunting goal. This last one I really would love to get done. I’ve been in the woods and bow hunting since I was about 13. Most mature and biggest buck I have harvested was 128 5/8 9 point down in Florida where I grew up that was aged at 7.5 years old. Shot out of a climber on opening day of bow season three years ago at 22 yards. Remember it like it was yesterday. My goal for this next season of it isn’t fulfilled in the next few weeks will be to harvest the biggest buck of my life. With a bow. From a climber or on the ground. It doesn’t matter. My biggest buck is the only one I have mounted and I cherish every second of that hunt and I love that I can look at him whenever I want and let my memories run true. But he needs a partner on the wall lol so that will be my personal goal for myself in the woods next season, or who knows maybe this or next weekend....🤞🏼

Some great goals!!

I plan on using my new saddle and sticks to hunt public land, worry less and enjoy myself more.
I also would like to take advantage of more hang/hunts. I just bought a stick/stand combo and haven't had a chance to use it yet - I think it will be a fun challenge and being mobile is awesome.

Make it to 2022.

Everyday I wake up, it is a blessing! Thank God before I go to sleep and give thanks when I raise my head! That isnt a bad goal Giles!! Sometimes the simplest ones can have the most meaning.

I will be honest - I laughed out loud when I read it! haha Thank you for that!

Keep it simple, hunt as much as possible, enjoy the little things more, spend time w family. Try to have more patience. This spring try to put a hurting on some crawfish, take the wife fishing. Would love to kill more ducks, get pearls last test passed to get her champion title and breed her for puppies.....everyone is wanting a “little pearl”.

You have heard it a thousand times, but time will fly by, enjoy every chance you get with your children. They will be grown before you know it.

Also make time to be husband and wife, not just mom and dad.

Stay healthy - myself, friends and family
Get some projects done in the house to eventually sell
Contact forester and prepare to have trees cut
Get (more) quotes on driveway in Ohio or somehow do myself and get done this year (hopefully)
Scout/shed hunt a lot
Family outing for turkey season in Ohio/Deer hunt often with friends and family
Cabin - get it buttoned up and rain proof
Buy a fucking pellet grill :ROFLMAO:
