A couple more about finished. Have two hard antlered bucks on camera already and one other starting to peel. There was a dead hard antlered 12point on one of our main roads I saw today. They’re starting to shed the soft stuff! Less than a month away boys!

Both properties have young bucks showing up now with velvet missing and hard antler peeking through. I attached the first buck that showed today missing velvet here at home and I expect most of the others to start shedding theirs over the weekend.

I would say 85/90 percent of bucks are hard antlered now. Here’s a decent 8 that could use one more year or so. Had him on camera last year and had a few encounters with him. Same brow features.

I had a buck show up over the week with full velvet. Was gone 7 minutes and came back with a clean rack. Not a big buck, but pretty amazing nonetheless.

Interesting. I had a similar series of pics. Not 7min, but short time period. I wrote it off as "must've been a couple similar basket racks." Now I need to go look closer. I had no idea how long it took to shred velvet. Probably varies per deer, but 7min is impressive.

Opened this thread to post these pics. I don't think I've ever had pics like this. He had to be fresh out of velvet.
