Have fun be safe and since I haven’t killed one since 2020 I’ll take anything that comes my way. Hopefully opening weekend then I will hunt squirrels the rest of the season. Mostly hunting public with my buddy.

This year hoping to get both my girls on a deer. Also planning to hunt some in WV and this will be my 3rd season as a trad hunter so it would be nice to catch up with the buck i hit last year and hopefully fill buck tags in both states. Seems reasonable to me lol.
Looking through 24-25 hunting season pictures, I counted 18 different people I was able to spend time afield with either deer, waterfowl, or upland hunting. I guess I'll aim for 20 or more people this season.
The cool thing is that nearly all those people are either good friends or children of those friends. Several I've been friends with for 20 to 30 years. It's hard to believe I'm old enough to have friends for that long of a period, and it's hard to beleive I have that many friends.
Hopefully, they feel the same. I guess one tangible goal I do have is for Blitz to point a grouse and hold steady, while I kill it with my great grandpa's Ithaca, and then send Blitz to complete the retrieve. I mean, if he does break at the shot, I'm not going to be too mad, but having him steady through flush, shot, and fall would be ideal.

I have a blind we can warm up in." Take it for what it's worth... Enjoy life NOW to the fullest with those you love... When their gone you'll wish you would have done more and appreciated them more... I think this is accurate with what I was trying to say.
I want to spend as much time in the woods as I can. I'm in a hectic phase of life and I need the alone time as much as ever. I'll continue working hard to put Kaydence and Kenna on deer, plus I want to hunt a couple new places this year, so I'm looking forward to that. And if we dodge EHD at the farm, I've got my eyes on one that I'll happily pursue in earnest. But at the end of the day, the goal is to spend as much time in the woods as possible.
Putting a little more thought into what my feelings are for deer hunting this year leads me to this.

Sydney's first ever treestand is up as of this morning. My goal is to have another great season teaching her how to hunt, enjoy and respect the great outdoors. Last season was amazing anything close to that will be a goal accomplished!

Goal this year is to have every one of my Ohio friends come to Florida and kill a pig and put them on some fish!!! Also my son will be a year and a half old and I would love to have him spend a little time around hunt camp with the boys!
Appears the sun will be at her back which is a great plus. What prevailing winds will be best for her at this set and what is it covering? Crossing in pinch? Path to food or to and from bedding? We are facing to the north west but there are some nice large trees to help shield us from the setting sun in our faces. It's a small wood lot with deer bedded close to us. The truck is parked directly behind us about 100yards away. Gives us a quick quiet approach. To the SW of us is a really nice alfalfa field that they hammer. We are only about 35 yards from the edge. I had a hang on in this tree last season and killed a big doe and my buck from it . The way they move from bedding to this field I'll hunt it SW to NE wind. We will set two more ground blinds on this farm to cover other wind conditions. It being such a active area is why I chose to place her a two person stand there.Appears the sun will be at her back which is a great plus. Another thing this is a active horse farm with ranch help moving about on it all day long. About 150 to 200 yards to our east is a large housing development and the city limits. These deer live with human scent swirling around them all day everyday. They are not like normal southern Ohio whitetails. If they bust you in about 20 minutes they come back and start feeding again like nothing ever happened. 
We average seeing 15 to 20 a evening there. It was a great place to take a young hunter last season. Hopefully this year is the same! On a bad note Bobcats showed up this summer. Turkey feathers are everywhere in front of that stand
