So I've been set on buying a Ruger Mark III. This morning I go into Gander and handle the $329 versions of both the Ruger and Browning Buckmark.

DANGIT! Instead of being easier, the choice got harder....although my heart says Ruger - the fit wasn't bad...but the Buckmark fit better, and is lighter.

But the Ruger is a Ruger....

dammit.....

I own a S&W 22A and suggest staying away from that for sure. It was fine for the first 200-300 rounds but after that nothing but problems.

One nice 22 is a Bersa model 644 that was made in a 4" and 6" barrel. made in argentina, but discontinued. looks similar to the 380 bersa's and about the same size. All steel, two safeties. I have two of them, never jam. easy to shoot accurately.
There are two newer bersa 22's one called a thunder but some reason you almost never see them for sale.
