The one handed grab was the ugliest prettiest catch I've seen in awhile.
I realize they are missing their QB and head coach but there is still talent on that team. Weren't they pre-season top 5?

Not sure what the Buckeyes learn today. Rutgers has the worst run defense in the league. Our top two receivers are out. Buckeyes pretty much focusing on the run game so far. Commentators talking about the Ohio State team "quietly establishing a run game." No. We are not. A couple games where we ran the ball better against sucky defenses is NOT establishing a run game. There is a reason I'm not a college coach. I'm clearly not qualified, nor experienced enough. That said, this one seems pretty obvious.
In my ignorant and humble opinion. . . I'm liking watching our defense do what are defense does. The stop on 4th and 1? Beautiful. A work of art. I would REALLY like to see Julian Sayin use 6-8 different receivers. Let him get reps with Wide receivers 3-10. It isn't like Smith and Tate are the only two he throws to. He likes Max Klare. Ennis gets grabs. RBs occasionally get a ball out of the backfield. I'm thinking out to the next 4-5 games. Let the RBs get some carries but use the other receivers and get some chemistry and rhythm with them. If we are up big, let Keinholz get some reps. Rutgers sucks. This game should be a practice for the "Next man up" mentality. See who shines. See who else gels with Sayin.
Am I wrong? Or am I listening too much to the naysayers with "they haven't been tested/cupcake schedule"? This isn't a stat padding team. This game needs to be a growth in a different way.

I think Day is being super calculated after learning to trust Sayin through the first 6-7 games. I feel like we're playing boring on purpose and placing value on practice reps for UM and the run afterwards. This team represents the new era of CFB where player management is a thing. My $ is on seeing a who different offense next week.
Phil, there's like 15-20 questions there, I dunno where to start lmao. Boring game, big play makers are out, yawn until next week. Hope they work on the little things today and excel.

Unrelated but in regards to the RBs: I'm starting to really like West and Jackson. Didn't we start the year with Donaldson and Peoples as the main RBs? Good problem to have. Rotate thru 4-5 until the cream rises to the top. Not every team has this luxury of 4-5 pretty solid RBs.

We can all keep pretending that rivalry games matter, but they simply do not. Winning a National Championship (or at least making the playoff) is what matters. All of the money and recruiting flows from that. Whoever has the most money will have the best team now. Still, muck the Fichigan Cheaterines! OSU 31 other team 13
If OSU has Smith and Tate back on offense we win by 14+ if they are unavailable we lose by 10. If we have one of them we win a tight one. Who wins in the trenches ALWAYS comes out on top unless TO’s come into play.
Interesting note though, Not 1 OSU player has experienced a win against TTUN and not 1 TTUN player has experienced a loss to OSU. More pressure is on OSU for sure, IMO.

Agreed, although making a playoff is pretty watered down now with it being 12 teams. Instead of 4 teams having that claim to fame for recruiting, it's now 12. Not that it really matters though, NIL collectives are what drives recruiting now. "What are you going to give me" is the biggest motivator for picking a school.
Snow could hurt the passing game. Missing Smith and Tate or even one of them might hurt, but I don't think it's a deal breaker. If the run game can't get going I foresee a bunch of short passes with the ball spread to many receivers. Or multiple short passes which allow the run game to open up. I say Buckeyes by two scores. 10 points.
