Evidently caught on spinning tackle in Italy. It was released but wow what a fish.

Everything about that picture says Photoshop to me. Or at least trick photography. If its real, I can't imagine that fight!

I kind of believe it. They have some big catfish species over in Europe. Catching it on rod/reel I'm not sure about that but if using ocean like tackle it would be possible. That's a giant fish.

I say BS for two reasons.

1. Wels catfish are found in Northern Italy. It's to cold up there so they don't have the l ok ng growing periods that Spanish Wels do.

2. It's Italy which means exaggeration and deception....lol

Here is a 155 pound wels catfish I caught in spain 2010.

I will say that they made 280 lbs look like 1,000 lbs.

If you zoom in on the pics, the guy seems to have a different pixel count that the fish. That makes me believe its a photo chop….
