Question probably for it's own thread. Do you aim for the same spot with rifle as you do a bow?

(This isn't to anyone special, just asking)

I do NOT! I aim back behind the shoulder with a bow. But with a gun I want the biggest shock factor and a direct bone hit to the shoulder or neck/spine does that. (Not neck, neck/spine area right above the shoulder where it gets real wide/tall)

For me it just depends on the distance and the situation. If it’s a long-ish shot, I’ll put the crosshairs right in the crease and go for heart/double lung. If it’s a slam dunk shot in pretty close, I go for upper shoulder so I can catch the spine and drop them on the spot.

Hornady 170 grain Interlok did well at 170 yard double lung with exit hole at a minimum large enough to put 3 fingers in.
Winchester power max bonded 160 grain did a GREAT job on my daughter's deer.

How accurate is the gel test vs an actual hit on a buffalo?
Ballistic gell is basically the best we can do for testing as an average person. Take the Buffalo hunt out of the talk and just look at the numbers between the two. I was shocked. Especially after all the bad reviews this round is getting.
