55 gallon barrel wood stove

Been going back and fourth about putting in a wood stove for my garage. My BIL and I like to spend alot of time in the garage drinking cold beer, cranking up waylon & jones, and grill deer meat.....problem is its winter time and it gets cold as fugg in garage so its time to get something done....wood stove it is.... but what kind? I dont need anything big just something small and simple. So after doing research and seeing whats out there. My BIL sent me this link of 55 gallon barrel wood stove from tractor supply. Check out the link. Looks badass. Dont need anything big. Im not gonna use shitload of woods. Just enough to come by 3-6 hours. My garage isnt that big...its only like two car garage. I thought about putting in bricks side by side and behind the barrel to block the heat from hitting the wall. I've got about 50 bricks. How far away should i leave the barrel from the wall? Any suggestions?

I have one in my garage Chad but my walls are block. I have the 2 barrel design. They put out some heat for real! I put a 20" fan on it to move the heat around.

I made one last year, single barrel. I no longer need it. Interested? I think I have about 50 bucks in the door kit. Cover that cost and it's yours...

Not on me, I'm not home right now. I'll get some and post them later if you'd like. It's nothing fancy, just a whitish barrel with a door on the front, legs under it and a stove pipe fitting on the top with a damper. It's just a one barrel deal, but I did put a log rack in it as well as sand to keep the bottom from burning out, which they will if you omit that step. I only used it a couple of times, so it should be in good shape still... I'll get pics tomorrow.

Brotha, you can find old ones cheap or even free. This is the one in my garage. I usually plumb it out the window in the winter. Been pretty mild this year...and I'm lazy. Lol

Yea, 3 tubes of play sand was a lot cheaper than firebrick.

A K1 heater should be able to heat a 2 car garage. Mine does. Portable and multi usage too.

Chad if you are interested, I can make you an absolute killer deal on a nice wood burner. Picked it up from a job site. Thought about putting it in my garage but I'd have to do all kinds of insulating first. If I go spending money on that instead of some of the house projects the wife will kill me. Bro I wanted to put a wood burner in my garage and my insurance would flat out drop me if I did so. But my garage is attached to my house, detached or pull barn I would have it burning as we speak. If you have a attached garage be careful.
