Rick really helped me along. Hell of a good guy that'll helped anyone, anytime.

You'll get it, Dick! I'm sure a machine shop would make you something up.

First off- congrats on the new bow purchase!
Second- I'm sure you will figure it out. You are resourceful and persistent. If for some reason you can't get it to where you can crank it yourself, you still have your Hortons.

We think alike Phil. When I hunt alone I can always cock the Hortons. If I hunt with someone or take my wife they could cock the WR. The force to cock the WR is much less than the Hortons. I just need to find a way to anchor the WR during the winding process. I only hunt at my cabin property so I may come up with something permanent there. I've never had to finish a deer with a second shot, so a need for quick rewind is not a concern.

Went back to the range yesterday afternoon determined to figure out a way to cock this crossbow. Armed with the original crank, a 1/4" drive ratchet and socket and of all things an electric screwdriver. The electric screwdriver didn't have quite enough power to do the job. The 1/4" ratchet will definitely work, but takes a long time. I finally tried the crank and after a few tries I had it figured out. I turned the crossbow backwards and put my foot in the stirrup and then wrapped my first finger on the outside of the crank. The finger helped to keep the bow from going forward and wobbling at the bottom of each crank. A little tougher than the Hortons were, but doable.

I shot my first shot ever at forty yards. This is way out of my comfort zone for hunting, it looks like a mile compared to 15-20 yards. My left/right was perfect, but I hit about 2" low. This was using the third crosshair, knowing I was on target at 20 and 30 with the first and second crosshairs. I'm leaning on sighting in at 30 yards with the main crosshair and aiming a little low at closer ranges once I figure out my POI at shorter ranges. To much thinking about what line I need to use at each distance IMO.

I prefer to sight in at 20. Then re-sight at 30. Most are real close on 20 and 40 at this point. 40 yards with that bow (in the open) is very doable.

I'm glad you are getting the crank figured out. I had wondered about a longer crank and turn the bow backwards.

A shorter handle on the crank would have made it a little easier (for me). I've already considered shortening it, but it works as is so I'll leave it be.

The furthest shots I can get from my current stand locations are about 24 and 27 yards. My outhouse stand will be moved in the spring to gain a few more yards and back off from the nearness of the fence crossing I hunt from that stand. My creek bottom funnel stand will remain as is.
