Anyone ever had one? Saturday I’m laying in bed with my hand on my stomach and I go to sit up by lifting my legs up and I feel what felt like an alien rise from my stomach. Did some research and found out it’s a separation called diastasis recti. Not me but this pic is spot on. CT scan scheduled but my nurse practitioner wasn’t too familiar and couldn’t say whats down the road for me.

Kinda in the same boat... I've had a herniated belly button since I was a kid... Late summer I was in pain and noticed it bulging out... Guess it's my intestine... If I push it it pops back in.... Haven't been to doctor yet with it... Hunting season got in the way... I'll have it checked in Dec...

That’s a diastasis rectus which is a separation of the rectus muscles (so called 6-pack) to the abdominal wall along the middle as opposed to a hernia which is a protrusion through a weak spot in the abdominal where your intestine can get stuck and create a blockage which is a surgical emergency.

Both are similar however a diastasis does not require surgery and is typically treated with core strengthening exercises as opposed to a hernia which typically requires surgery with mesh.

feel free to ask anymore questions as it’s my line of work

Sweet! Yeah I could do without surgery. I’m guessing some PT and hard work?

This site never ceases to amaze me. You want home remodeling tips? Vehicle info? Physical health issues? Politics? Sports? Kids? Investing? Hunting? Fishing? Cooking? Tech questions? Someone will cover it. Even if most of us don't see it. I've heard of PMs addressing issues that were more private. Keep up the great work. Good people here.

Have the exact same thing last longer than yours . Long story short had appendix burst ,they had to pull all my guts out wash them(happened as operation was happening) months down the road I started having a problem like yours they told me that it was an Hiatal Hernia. So they went in put mesh in .

A year later I was still bleeding daily so they then went in and took mesh out because my body rejected the mesh.

Looking to try to have it fixed in February maybe they miss diagnosed me but I have the exact same thing.

Not sure tho at this point what they can do I have had the same spot cut open 3 times.

I’ll be curious as to what your Doc says . Best of luck.

Quick question, is there a certain type of doc I need to see? I’m not real trusting of my GP and who he might refer me to. And is this commonly addressed in the PT world, in other words should I be going to a special PT?
