Aces and Eights..

I can eat a tag too if I have to Joe. lol

Honestly, I am wondering myself about one on my "hitlist". He is mature, unique, big bodied, has one hellacious typical side, and would be a trophy, but I had him within 60 yards earlier in the week and now at 30yds on the ground today. I am just not sure. Helluva deer, but I am not feeling it. What is freaking wrong with us?

To me it's that "just not feeling it".... When i see a shooter i'll know it... No questions, no second guessing, grab the bow of the hook and start to analyze your shot possibilities... While i feel mixed emotions about not shooting him, i could just as easily be sitting here saying, "Man whyd i do that, i had the whole rut and 3 more months of season.. Should have waited" To me... That feeling is worse than the feelings i have now about "did i make the right choice".. I can sit here and talk either way, for every reason to shoot him i can come up with one why not to.. But if you do make that shot, the feeling of "why'd i do that" is final. And you have the rest of the season and all of rut for it to grind at you... When i shoot one, there will be no doubts that he was a shooter. And if i don;t shoot one.. I've never been the type to look back and say "should have shot that one"... I'll likely find his sheds. to me.. that's cool too.

I'm with you bro!@ Knowing you could have had it is just as good as tagging it. It is the hunt, not the kill.

Damn Joe that's some serious will power! He is a dandy 8 pointer... Knowing that there are bigger bucks around certainly helps the decision-making process, but man that's a nice deer.

Your patience is going to pay off Joe, I can feel it! You have more willpower than me bud, but knowing that big boy is lurking around sure makes it easier! Best of luck man!

While browsing photobucket I found this pic of the tight tall 8 in 010. Be interesting to see what he does this year...

Yep, two years on him should stud him up. Hopefully he's still out there. I still love looking at your cuddy pics. Dang if you don't have some great pics! Looking forward to seeing more.

.

Here is a good then and then image for him. If he's still around I think he'll be 4.5 this year. If he put on some mass or a couple points he'll likely be on the hit list. He was just too spindly last year..

He should be on your list if he makes the same jump as he did from the year before. Isn't it great having year after year photos to see their changes/growth.

As you can see he added a few more inches after the first of july. This is why I'm in no big hurry to put cams out...lol
