I’ve gotten a few text and a PM about this now, so I figure we can just share info here in a thread. Depending on the place of information, there has been around 200 quakes in the last 24 hours.

This is at my in-laws place.

So far damage is all replaceable stuff and everyone is just tired at this point from being awake and rocking.

Biggest was a 7.0

Roads are damaged and schools are closed till at least mid week right now. I’m sure they have to be structurally checked before allowing kids back in. This was a big one, biggest I ever had was a 5.6 while I was there.

Damn! I also saw where there were house fires because of ruptured gas lines. Anyone know how far the damage extended from the center of the quake?
I know they had a bunch of fires, one was a gas main on C street and was throwing flames some 70’. Winter time in AK is no time to not have gas to heat your home...

Another big scare was the airport. They had to divert flights and a couple planes weren’t sure they could make it on fuel to Fairbanks. I’m guessing they will be adding more fuel to the flight plans...

The next big deal will be food...I joked to Nate this morning about getting his girls some preper videos and nonperishable food items. In Alaska, it’s a part of life because of its remoteness. They say that there’s only enough food on the grocery store shelves to feed the city for 2 days. Take that to the bank folks...natural disasters are real, it also feeds the zombie 🧟‍♂️ thoughts just as well.

My sister and her family live in eagle river and their house is livable but full of cracked walls and everything is on the floor.
That’s basically part of anchorage. Contractors are going to be busy the next couple of years. I’m glad everything is ok otherwise. Sounds like everyone has about the same story.

Glad your in-laws are alright Dave. Same goes for your sister and her family Rooster.

That's going to be a mess to clean up especially this time of year. Can't even imagine.

They have still been having earthquakes above normal activity, people starting to get scared kind of thing. Christine was telling us some around the campfire. Over 3,000 since the 7.0! Crazy

Then I just heard on the radio about one in TN a little over an hour ago, 4.4

Earth is angry...
