Alright, I will be Debbie Downer for you. I am not pumped. I was pumped 2 months ago. Since then, the work load has been so frigging terrible that I am hoping bow season slows down getting here. My gear is washed and stowed away. My bow is good to 30yds. Haven't had time to shoot it to feel confident past 30yds. Hank is ready to go track some deer. I just can't get caught up on work. Plus, the first week of the season I will be in southern Ohio. Maybe this is part of my lack of enthusiasm. I have scouted deer locally year round and I won't be hunting them until the second week of the season at the earliest. Realistically, if I am in southern Ohio for a week, the week I return is going to be so busy getting caught up on work I am not going to be able to hunt.
I am going to be the first to tell you this: I should be kicked square in the giblets by a big ol' mule! I have the opportunity to hunt terrain I have never hunted and I am so stressed and overworked, it is sucking the enthusiasm out of me. I should be trampled on by elephants. Something tells me once I get in the stand in southern Ohio, my attitude is going to do a 180!
