Erin asked me when she should schedule vacation last night. I said follow me to the office and I will check. There is only one weekend I cannot go on vacation. Well. . . .She got sidetracked. We never spoke about what weekend to take. She had to schedule today and guess what weekend she picked? She wasn't too happy when I told her I was out. Not available. Not doing a long weekend with her on the TOO weekend. So she asked "I am taking time off to sit around with the kids while you are off with the boys then?" She is a smart one. She figured it out pretty quickly. I'm heading to Mingo. I have a feeling she will figure out a way to change her weekend. Like I said. . . She is a smart one.
Two limits in two nights. If I can make it to Mingo this year we won't be skimpy on the frog legs this time.
Erin is . . . .displeased. she has to work Mon/Tues. Has BLS training part day Wed. I told her I'd likely leave Friday morning and return Sunday afternoon/evening. She has off until the following Friday. She also has a Columbus Crew soccer game scheduled that week. She doesn't want to camp until Friday and return to a Sat-Mon work schedule. This leaves Mon or Tues thru Thurs to do a family vacation. Maybe I am just being a dick here. I am going to be at Mingo. My suggestion was to change the Crew game night. (They are generally pretty good to work with like this.) Then schedule a long weekend in August to camp. She is not real happy about it. She has been so awesome with me, my parents, my siblings, and our kids in regards to my Dad's situation. She has taken some vacation days already to help with dad. I realize family vacations and bonding are important. Not sure she realizes how much I consider you guys as extended family. Let's face it: most people wouldn't get it. We shall see how this pans out.
Phil, you work your Fuggen balls off. You deserve some "me" time. I wouldn't call that being a dick, selfish, or anything else. This is scheduled a year out, maybe it needs to be on her calendar as well in the future.
Tell ya what, even if I can't make it, I'll make sure they're hillbilly expressed... Then I will at least be there in spirit. Lol.
It was definitely on "my" calendar. Doesn't sound like the Mrs knew the dates although she kinda knew it was sometime in the summer. I agree. Erin agrees. We all need a little individual time off. We still need family time together as well. There is a balance there and obviously the wife and I didn't communicate on this one very well. We will figure it out. I'm pretty dead set on being there.
