Any pipe smokers out there?

My uncle used to smoke a pipe with that cherry tobacco. It is one of those smells that I instantly remember back to our week hunting trip to mid Michigan where he would smoke it then. I can recall many trips out of the woods after dark and I could smell him smoking it before we walked up on him to head back to camp. Absolutely miss that smell and the times we all hunted together.

My old man smoked a pipe for a while, he smoked Capt Black. I can still smell that aroma too this day when I think about it….. A friend picked me upa pipe while he was in Afghanistan 15 years or so ago, still sitting in the box he gave to me…. One of these days I might fire it up…. Just not today….
Cappy Black....that was the go-to for many times. (y)

I smoked pipes for 20+ years. Mostly briar but I did have a few meerschaum pipes.

A lot of the meerschaum stone comes from Turkey. It’s soft. Lots of child labor there carved em. Your suppose to hold the pipe in a cloth so the oils from your fingers don’t discolor the stone before the tobacco tints the bowl.
