Anybody have a scuba tank ?

I'm picking up a PCP air rifle & the one thing I didn't take into account was acquiring a refillable holding air tank to refill the rifle. I don't wanna spend the $$$ for a new tank. I'll use a pressurized hand pump to begin with, but that'll get old real quick. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas before I go looking around.

What psi will the gun be running? I did some research a while back... the traditional scuba tanks only fill to 2500-3000 psi, while the newer air guns run 4000+ psi. You can only get that pressure rating in a carbon fiber air tank, which isn't exactly cheap.

Welding supply shops that deal with the tanks might be an option as well. I’d check them out and see if that’s a viable option.

16 with 25, 30 or so with 22. At least that’s what Mason gets with his Marauder and Disco rifles.

And then it takes a little effort to refill...this storage tank idea seems like a waste to me. Because you’d still have to keep it at some crazy PSI to get the gun up to what it needs to be. Be storing a rocket in the garage to pump up your gun....

On the flip side of that, if a guy is shooting his gun over & over, he can leave that tank hooked up to his rifle so there's no need to refill the rifle's tank during a shooting session. I'll never be shooting like that, so maybe it's a moot point. On the flip side of that, I don't wanna be pumping hundreds of times using a pressurized hand pump either. I dunno. Once my hand pump arrives & give it a try, I'll know all the more then.

Ruger 10/22 with the Ruger 25 round magazine...or anything on an AR platform.

Now that I think of it, I think Mason has a bike style pump that seemed pretty easy.

If you are running a 3000 psi gun, it takes some work ton initially charge. It isn’t too bad to keep it in operating range but does take some effort. The .22 uses half the air as the .25, so obviously twice as many shots per charge. I much prefer the 22 for that reason.

I finally got around shooting this thing & it's quite a tack driver. Hatsan Flash in .22. It's more of a PCP entry level air rifle, but its specs say all the more .... 200 BAR, 2900 pci, 1100 fps, 38fpe. Using the pressurized hand pump isn't an issue as long as I don't let the pci pressure go below 100 BAR. Otherwise it would take forever to pump back up I bet.
