Anyone know.anything about Indian artifacts?

Not all Indian relics are created equal. You can have two spear points , let's say 5" in length. One is a paleo Clovis made of Flint Ridge, very colorful and translucent, and in museum grade quality. In the other hand, you have a Lancelot made of a very fine chert and in very good or museum condition.
Paleo point clovis's in that length and that quality have sold for 4,000-10,000 in private and public auctions. The 5" Lancelot made of chert might sell for 150-200.00.
So, my point is ( no pun intended) lol. The rarity, condition, material and time period have everything to do with value.
Do you know that tribes all over this North American continent traveled to Flint Ridge, located here in Licking Co. Imagine, Indians from the Pacific Northwest coming to licking county Ohio for ammo! Lol

That's exaclty what they did. Rumor has it that there was a camp up above my house ( so they could see rival tribes coming from below I suppose ). It's my understanding that Flint Ridge was a peace zone, so to speak that the different tribes could come in & gather, but had to leave before any fighting could occur. They would camp elsewhere. I have a co worker that use to live on the ridge & they had this big ass chunk of flint in their yard. I never saw any collections when I visited.

my buddys dad lives on right next to flint ridge and he has prolly 15 5 gallon buckets of flint that he has picked up out of his field. he found a few arrowheads but not many, because like you guys said this is where they got there flint from not really where they hunted. i never made it out this year, to look and the corns to tall now. after these heavy rains would have been prime.

Now that makes sense. Most everything we find back home is chert as it's very available. Most driveways and gravel roads are done in chert if that tells you how available it is.
