Anyone seen one of these before?

Ok guy's my county Game Warden emailed me back today and said it look's most likely like a young beaver with a narrow tail but also said that we do have Nutria in Ohio and if we see them we should shoot them as they are an invasive species.So i guess we will go with young beaver unless i catch him this trapping season and he turns out to be a Nutria.And most people have had the same reaction as Full bore WTF is a Nutria. LOL So that is our lesson for the day.We now know what a Nutria is and we do have them in Ohio.Mystery solved, I guess.LOL

I know what a nutria is but did not know we had them here. I thought they lived mainly in the south like Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and the like.

Although after looking at the back foot on the first pic I would say it is a beaver. Different foot then on a muskrat.

If that tail didn't look round I would of agreed but it doesn't look like a beaver tail looking at that picture.... And looking at the Nubia pictures online it looks too much like it from the back end..... Kill the little fugger and we'll know for sure l

J, I've trapped a lot of beaver that had long narrow tails. That foot is also a dead give away, trust me, it's a beaver.
 
If Dale said its a beaver.....It's a beaver! That dude knows his fur and fur bearing mammals!

Interesting about the Nutria. I asked guys here at work about them and they said swamp rats, water rats but like others have said they're found mostly down around Mississippi and Louisiana in the river systems and swamps.

Yea after comparing the back foot in the pic and the foot of a Nutria it is definately a beaver.I have just never caught a beaver with that thin of a tail.And we do have Nutria in Ohio just that they are mostly in the southern states.Mystery solved if it ever was one.LOL But hey some of you guys now know as Ron say's WTF is a Nutria.
 
I've seen videos of people in Louisiana just slaughtering nutria, they are everywhere down there fugging up all kinds of chit.
