Apple tree sources in Ohio?

Does anyone know of a Ohio based vendor for apple trees and rootstock?

I’m not interested in big box store mystery varieties. I want known rootstock and tree type.

Google searches for Ohio sources keep leading me to out of state nurseries.

Honestly, your probably better off this a New York toot stock as they see heavier winters. I buy apples on maturation dates myself. I don’t find apples that beneficial for deer as I do a hearty acorn tree or persimmon. That’s just my take on it.

I know you said you didn't want big box store trees but don't those have the place of origin on them at least? It's either that or perhaps find a semi-local nursery that carries a variety.

I’m new to this so I’m learning as I go.

I believe the rootstock has a major impact on the size and performance of the tree. If you buy from a big box, you have no idea what the rootstock is. I’m not taking a chance on such a long term investment.

There are out of state sources for what I want. I’d just like to keep it local if I can.
