I was a NRA member for years but when they made Glen Beck and the draft dodger Ted Nugent their poster boys i quit -SEMPER FI

I'm GOA and NRA. NRA because my range makes me.

Your range probably gets some grants from the NRA, for a club to be eligible a certain percentage of members must be NRA member.

Our gunclub got large NRA grants to safety improve our range. The NRA even sent out a range expert at no charge to give advice on improvements. The club is 100% NRA membership except the cheap bastards that wanted to be members of the National Muzzleloader Club.
