As my wife says...Gun Porn!

It only makes sense, new hunting land requires new gun. I've been thinking about getting a lever action for the last few years but could not justify it for the land I had to hunt. I've looked at a few, but when I played with them, I had a habit of getting pinched by the lever. I always had the big loop on my mind just the same, but I was kinda aiming towards a 44mag . I came across this today, a bit used, no scratches & it's all the more beautiful than what I have looked at. 1895 45-70 .

There is a "different feeling" taking a lever gun out for a hunt. Most enjoyable!
Enjoy and best of luck!

Thanks everyone. Plenty of nice words.

You're absolutely correct. It's something I've always yearned for, growing up reading such stories or seeing pics of my dad's early days of hunting perhaps. Either the regulations never allowed it, or I didn't have the space for it recently. Best of all, my wife doesn't know.

You'll love the Marlin 45-70 for deer hunting. I used my custom Marlin 45-70 rifle for the last 3 years and took 4 one shot deer kills.
I did buy a TC Encore 460 S&W barrel this year hoping to improve on the 45-70 rainbow bullet path.
But my custom Marlin 45-70 rifle is a keeper and will be passed down to the son-grandsons.
