Youth hell, I used one all last turkey season, forget packing that heavy 12 around anymore. I killed a Turk at 52 yrds stone dead with tssThanks to Mr. and Mrs. @Fluteman, the wife and I had a kids-free date night last night that started at @giles' favorite store in Marietta. They had some .410 TSS shells in stock, so I snagged two boxes. That reminded me to check and see if they had a Stevens Model 301 in .410 as I'd passed on one last spring and regretted it. Sure enough, there she was behind the counter. About the time I'd decided to buy it, Tracie strolled over and says "awe, cute" She checked it out and we agreed on taking it home for the girls. This is a mean little youth turkey setup, but it'll be hell on squirrels and rabbits as well. I imagine with steel shot, we could kill some migratory birds too. I had a spare sling and butt pad, the sight came on it. The box was shot at 20 yards with a lead high brass 2.5" 1/2oz. 7 1/2 shot. It rolled the box over and clearly patterned well enough to kill a tree rat. I can see old dad carrying this on a few hunts himself.

I’ve been looking for that gun for two years. Local gun shops didn’t have it and said none of their suppliers had it in stock. Asked if they could buy it from another gun shop and I’d pay for the shipping AND give them another $200 on top of it for their trouble. Said they couldn’t do it but I could buy it online and have it sent to them. I ended up getting a Churchill 20 gauge turkey gun with a red dot scope for around $600. Good luck with that gun, they are hard to come buy.I guess I can add this info for anyone interested. I had a very difficult time finding what I was looking for and I know in general guns are scarce. I ended up purchasing this online (new) and had it shipped to a local FFL. I found it at Hinterland outdoors. Shipping was only $14.95 and I paid $35 to the FFL for transfer. Paid no taxes, so I ended up a little better than if I would have bought locally.
What are you using to sharpen that knife? I like the straight edge that is taking the factory bevel out.
Awesome rig. I was pretty impressed by the ergonomics of that Hellcat. I need to shoot one! After owning my Springfield Hellcat for several weeks, I was finally able to find a holster that accommodated the Streamlight TLR 6 light/laser combo. I bought this as the middle ground between my Taurus PT Slim, which is now a bag gun, and my Glock 45, which is my truck gun. This is my new EDC weapon and I'm very pleased with how it carries. Thanks to Apocalypse Holsters for offering this combo when no one else is for some is for some reason. The light/laser combo is pretty sweet!
