Athens county processor recommendations?!

Damn....Well my go to Wood Road processor in Athens is closed down due to COVID. Any recommendations for processors near the city of Athens or along 33 towards Columbus?

Have you tried doing it yourself. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but I when I lost the convenience of a processor, I started doing them myself again. I'll never drop another one off.

Or If heading towards Columbus, Edwards on ST RT 374 in Rockbridge. Edwards has a drop off freezer, if no ones there.

Good to know, that was my back-up place if I were in a pinch with time.

The one I use is on RT 50 about 5 miles west of McArthur. 740-253-3246. He had told me that he’s real busy because the ones in Athens, wellston and Logan were closed down due to the virus. This guy does great work and vacuum seals everything. Usually a 3 day turn around but may be longer because of the amount of work he has. He also has a refrigerated truck that you can drop off a deer at if he’s not there.

I know this family personally and have been taking deer there since 2000. Another recommendation here.

Moore’s did my boys deer and most of mine over the years. Always liked what I got!

I do my own but I know there is one on vore ridge, I know there is a fella on w shade road out towards Chester too. Todd dowler is on Salem rd but he strictly butchers, doesn’t do any jerky or sausage though.

Is he the one on west shade rd.? Talked to him a couple times, he’s a really nice guy and seems to keep pretty steady work throughout the season based on what he’s told me.

Yep that is him, great guy, Lester Parker, his dad and uncle used to swap and share farm equipment with my Grandfather.
