ATV disc

Looking at the King Kutter 4 Foot ATV Compact Disc Notched Blades 14-14 vs the Tarter 36”. For a 100 yard wide field the 4 footer would save me 8.33 passes. Anyone have experience with the wider discs behind atvs or utvs and how the weight distribution impacts effectiveness?

How wide is your quad? I think i would want one to come close to covering my tracks. Even if I had to add more blocks.

Wheel base 50inches... so I guess it’s the four footer

Look comparable except width and cost, so I'd say personal choice. That said, have never used either but both would fit the bill.

Another question would be, what’s the depth you are trying to reach? Different seeds like to be planted at different depths.

Clover, beans, rye and switchgrass.

Another option to look at, that is less expensive and does a nice job is the Ground Hawg Max disk. I have one that work well for out of the way spots.

I thought it might bend the frame. No problems with that?

I use an old Honda FourTrax 300 and it throws dirt, IDK about bending the frame on your machine

I have never used one, but I know a guy that has the groundhog max and says it does a pretty nice job. Alot cheaper in cost. I think they work well since they use some of the weight of the ATV.. The issue with any of these small discs is they lack the weight to really do a great job in comparison to a big set of discs. However if you make multiple passes they will work.
