Plan is to pay everything off in a few years. But I've been working my butt off and I'm thinking about some family time. Seems we all enjoy riding and I can probably swing buying another used quad and a used side by side. So I'll likely just start putting the bug out and start lightly looking around until I find some things that I can't pass up. I'm and older honda fan for quads. Foot shifter kind of guy. Side by side would need to be a 4 seater. I don't know much about these because I've never considered it. I'm considering selling the camper because the kids just don't want to go anymore. Then do this.

I have a Polaris sportsman. Before that I had a Suzuki king quad. Also had a Razor side by side but if you’re using it for hunting, I’d steer clear because they have a WIDE turning radius which sucks in the woods, especially steep hillsides. I got rid of mine for that reason. The quads maneuver much better in the woods. If you’re going to be hunting mostly fields or just taking joy rides with the family on established trails, then I’d consider a side by side.

I have a quad for hunting already. This would be for around the house and some trail riding. Golf cart was really handy. Probably shouldn't have let it go, but I made good money on the deal.

So far I really like the pioneer I bought a couple years back. I think it’s the 700. That thing is a tank. I ve had it places I’d be afraid to take the old Foreman. I don’t know if it’s better or worse than any other since it’s the only one I’ve had.

All I know is it's a Honda or nothing. Been on one my whole life and they're worth every penny. Our 2001 Rancher is literally indestructible.

That was a loooooong time ago. I'd take an 01' ram cummins over a 25' ram cummins all day long! I wouldn't die on that hill and that is exactly why I started this thread.

Love honda quads but i have no experience with their side by sides. I really enjoyed the canam commander 1000 I had I still miss that thing , sold it when the wife's transmission went out years ago. My stepfather and his brother both recently bought new CF Motos . I've only been on it a couple times but I will admit when the time comes to buy another side by side I will be considering them for sure.

I’ve have a 750e Brute Force since 2010.
Normal wear/tear. Plows most lake effect snows.
I would get another if it had to be replaced. Never shot a deer I couldn’t drag out with it. More power than I need but that’s how I roll.

Honest down side is the big motor runs pretty hot in the summer if yer just putting along.

Kawasaki Teryx 4 seater is what T and I decided on. We went brand new because we could find a new one for the same price as a used one. Other reasons we went with the Teryx was shorter wheel base than most 4 seaters. The only thing I am not crazy about is it is louder in the cab than most because of where the engine is. Pretty sure we picked it up for less than 15k in February.

Mine is a 2012 Ranger 400 side by side. Only left me stranded once…blown main fuse, no idea why, hasn’t done it since. I hate that it’s not fuel injected. I hate you have to stop to shift into second. It’s bare bones, no speedo, heater, radio etc. it’s strictly utilitarian and does a damn good job at that. It’ll climb anything.

I had always been a Honda four wheeler guy. I've had a Yamaha 450 that was very good. Now have the fuel injected Grizzly. Extremely impressive. I use it as a utility quad but it would be fun off road (if I wasn't a dirt bike guy.)

The Kubota RTV1120 is also a beast "IF" haul lots of weight or towing is needed. It is slow. Not sure how well it would do off roading nor would i ever attempt it. I can tell you: if you fill the bed with river rock it will rest on the bump stops, but you can repeat all day long and it won't question it. Dumps the load and hauls it fine (in flat country.) Excellent work UTV. Not real fun.

I bought a Honda Pioneer 1000 back during covid and it's been a great utility vehicle. With the factory suspension, or even the fox suspension, it's not going to ride as smooth as some of the other buggies, but it's going to run at a lot lower rpm due to the transmission, which equates to a more enjoyable ride if you have passengers. Rear seats are nice, but are cramped for an adult. Still, you have a bed if you need it, or extra seats. All the power you could ever need as well, even with a full load.

My uncle owned a John Deere Gator 6 X 4 and we were always impressed by how easy that thing would climb the steepest of hills and not bat an eye. It was lower to the ground so you also didn't feel like you would ever tip over on uneven ground. Had the hydraulic bed so he would haul stone from the bottoms out to put it in his driveway back in the day. Always said that type would be a good get around for the farm for us. To my knowledge he had very little problems with it too all the years he had it. Was a 2 seater but we always piled people in the bed, not to mention they have seats available to install back there. It was belt driven but other than messing with an old snowmobile back int the day I know nothing about those.

We have a kubota. My dad originally bought it because of the self braking when you remove your foot from the accelerator and SE Ohio (Belmont county) hills.

My kids love to drive it. It's not super fast and doesn't have a rapid acceleration if you start to bog down. It's a workhorse though, has no issues hauling gravel and dirt, or like this weekend 600lbs of honey plus the other assorted stuff. The hydraulic bed is awesome.

It must do better on plowed ground than unplowed by a long shot..... it's lack of goose it acceleration gets it stuck easily.

I have a 2 stage snowblower that's never been used going into it's this winter and a bucket on my mini skid steer. I'm doing okay I think

I'll throw my $.02 in. I chose Honda because of the transmission. I did not want a CVT. I got a Rubicon with their "manual" transmission. I quote that because there is no clutch, but it still requires changing gears by foot. The electronic shifting has complaints because it is electronic and it fails. I wanted to keep everything as simple as I could because I want to have it for life.

My dad has a SxS. It is a Tomcar. It is the weirdest damn thing I have seen. Apparently they are made in Israel and is supposedly bomb proof. They designed it to be parachuted to the military and landings can be rough, but they flip it upright and drive it. There was a dealer local to him in AZ and he fell in love with it. It is only rear wheel drive and has a small engine in it that was deaigned for small cars over seas. He has had nothing but problems with that thing! He has the small wheel version and got it at a huge discount because the new models got upgraded suspensions and vehicle wheels and tires. It looks like this
