Austrian Winter Peas

Since there is in the forecast for midweek I put in the winter peas tonight. Ground was pretty dry and hard, but the tiller did a pretty decent job. Didn't spray this plot at all. Just tilled. Never planted them by themselves before so I decided to give it a whirl.

Hope they do well for you. Once upon a time I killed quite a few deer over them.

Good stuff! Let us know how well they draw the deer in. I've only ever added austrian winter peas to other seeds in a blend... never planted them alone.

My total dislike for peas has kept me from planting them. I know that sounds shallow but that’s the truth. I’ve always had great success with turnips so I plant them. Keep us updated on how they do.

They weren’t a hot item for us.

I’ve watch them grow in my plots till the frost got them. Deer never ate them here but do in other areas.
