Well the boys left the poles laying around from the night before and I said let’s see how she does off the leash, this is the puppy. She did great until she smelled the worm on the hook and tried to eat it.

Could have been much worse and yes I was happy with the amount they charged.

And call me a wuss but I couldn’t push it through and cut the barb off.

Not horrible for an unexpected trip to the vet. Especially when it isn't the normal vet.

It’s all good, lessons learned. Retrievers don’t make good fishing partners and will find a way to get into a hook at just about any age.

I cut the hook off of a spinner bait and would cast it in the back yard so our lab would point on it. It was hilarious the first few times I did it. She wasn’t a hunter just a family pet but she had that instinct in her.
