No worries man. Sounds like you want to build a fence to me. So build it, but build it for you, not anyone else. That’s something that will work!

Thats a good point Giles.

Also good points/questions above. Honestly, the main reason I want to put up a fence on the Pipeline is to reduce my liability. We are in SE Ohio (mostly timber) and the terrain is fairly rugged. The last thing I want is someone to go ripping down the pipeline and roll their ATV and have me become liable. Most if any trespassing to this point has been people out having fun joy riding, I just need to try to put a stop to it (i havent seen any other signs of trespassing in other locations/open trails).

I also think you can put a big buck infront of an honest man and make him a dishonest man real quick. So my goal is to reduce the temptation to trespass in the future, who knows what types of neighbors the future will bring to town and I figure I should do it now if I have the time/money.
make sure to mark the fence real well so people can see it. The last thing you want is someone to get injured running thru the fence on an atv. I would definitely put a fence up to stop atv trespass.

This is a little bit off topic, some people run snow fences through their property to try to control deer movement/condition the deer. Some people use snow fences to fence of sanctuaries, bedding ares, safe zones on their property for the deer. Maybe using a snow fence to mark your border is a safer alternative to barb wire. T-post, snow fence and some zip ties.

Summer fence building sucks! Places where old fence used to be are usually covered in poison ivy/oak, do it soon before the green-up! Ive wanted to add wire to our line fence on the west side for a while now. Sure it won't keep out trespassers but it will at least continue to define the boundary for years to come which is generally all a line fence is good for in that situation.

I have considered something like this as well.

thanks it will be very visible - my one neighbor had people riding on his trails occasionally when he first bought the place, he put up a few gates and it all stopped, it was just people joy riding.

If you have a homeowners insurance policy on your residence you should be able to extend personal liability to your farm/ land for very little money
