Yessir. She is sexy. Not $30k sexy. But really sexy. Darn shame it doesn't have the original engine and there are unknowns with the dropped driveshaft. Still going to need to do some tinkering to get it on the road I'd guess. Brake lines, fluids, maybe tranny/fuel lines? Wheel cylinders. Battery (most likely). Hopefully no mice damage to the wiring or interior. Tires likely dry rotted. Big question mark on what the engine will need to get it fired. None of this is major but it all takes time and money.
How did the body look after he got it cleaned up?
Car is pretty cherry. Frame is fine, still plenty solid. Amazingling doesn't smell of rat piss. My overall judgement and next suggestion to him was to buy my buddies 427 and put it in the car. Don't sell it. Put a couple grand into the damn thing and keep it. Seriously, who can say they have a 1967' convertible stingray? I can't! And for what he'll have into this car...he being a dumbass if he doesn't. Like I told him (because it has to be out of the garage it's in now by July), let's put it in my garage and rebuild it.

Sorry I didn't get anymore pics. I was amazed and didn't even want to touch the car because I knew I'd become attached. It did come with some old duck decoys and I told dad I wanted one of those. Lol

Let me know if you need some help. We can have a motor swap done in a few hours. I also know a guy that has a lift and all the tools to do what needs done.
I like your idea Dave. Drop the 427. Make the memories with your dad. It isn't going to go down in value. My dad is having many thoughts right now. Some realistic. Some not. He wants tires on his 74 VW. Mom says don't worry about it. I told her tonight "if he wants tires on it. . .let's buy tires. What is it going to hurt?" He has been talking about buying a Mustang. Don't be surprised if I own a Mustang in the near future. If we have to sell the Nova and a couple of Jeeps to do it, I don't care. I'll drive dad to chemo and radiation treatments in a Mustang if he wants a Mustang. My point is, make it happen. Let him enjoy the thing if he has even a slight desire to keep it. Life is short my friend.

Phil....A guy I used to work with....his Dad got cancer and was hell bent on buying a Corvette. He bought a brand new one and paid cash; drove his wife and grandkids around the block a few times.

Right on. Don't want to derail. Dad has been really optimistic. He needs to have a cataract removed on his right eye to improve his vision. Before the tumor: I'm not spending the extra money for corrective surgery. Now: I'm getting the whole nine yards done as soon as the doctor says I can. Why not? Enjoy life as you never know what is around the next turn.
On that note, good for your dad, Dave. He knows what he wants or what is best for him. Would I love to own it? Heck yeah. Would you? Yep. Would he? Most likely. Then again, we are not your dad. If he felt it was best to sell it, then I am glad he got a great deal on the car. Good for him!
Thinking about this car over the past year has really peaked my “project” bug. I haven’t built a vehicle in about 5 years...damn TV shows have put prices outrageous. I hate buying when markets are up!
