@cotty16 ....come on with it!!
Oh man what a season!!!! Year 24 as the head coach at Indian Creek and finally heading to the final four in division 2!!!! I can’t put it into words.
Beat River View 3-0 to win the sectionals. Then beat Carrollton 5-4 in the district semi final. Next game had up against 23-3 Tri-Valley. We knocked them off 1-0 to win the district.
in the regional semifinal we beat St. Clairsville 10-8 after losing to then 3 times this season (once in the OVAC Finals). In the regional final we beat Waverly 7-5 to head to the final four. We are now sitting at 23-6 and face West Branch who sits at 26-6.
Just unbelievable season with a great group of boys!
We play Friday at Canal Park in Akron at 1:00.

So this year of baseball for Cooper has been a great one until these last few days. He's playing 8u travel ball and the local rec league. About 3 weeks ago at a game he was really limping running the bases after the game we questioned him why,and he said he banged his knee on his bed when he was running and jumped into it. A few days went by and he was still limping when he was running so my wife took him to the doctors they did x rays and said no break. So for just over 2 weeks we were wrapping it and treating it as a bruised muscle. Last Monday during a rec game he was really limping bad and Tuesday morning he woke up and actually said his leg hurt. He wouldn't admit to it hurting while he was playing but we knew something was wrong still so off to children's we went to find out he has a fractured tibia so for 3 weeks he played probably 10 games on a broke bone. The last game he played he went 5 for 5 with 3 doubles and 2 singles. Doctor said it's healing good and put him in a boot for a few weeks, were hoping he will be able to play in his last tournament in a few weeks but it's not looking good. Great season mike congrats to you guys.

We ended up losing in the semi-finals to West Branch 4-2. They ended up winning the championship on Sunday defeating Badin 3-2.

We had them. We let it get away.
Same thing with Badin. They were winning 2-0 in the bottom of the 7th. Their closer muffed it up. The good news is we only have 4 seniors this year.

Congratulations to the WestBranch Warriors! Where I lived in Ohio they were our HS team’s rivals…. Have a few buddies who graduated from there and played ball….

Man, time is absolutely flying by this spring/summer! Myles wrapped up his soccer season and it's heavy baseball the next 4-5wks. 8 games in 6 days this week and both of these fellas teams are in the chase for 1st place.

Ty's pitching has come back on point (him trusting the process and throwing hard vs. aiming), and he's on fire in the #3 spot in the lineup. His head coach was on vacation last week, we took the opportunity to put up the 1st run rule of the season🤣.

Wyatt is still showing great enthusiasm to play, always excited for his next game. He's made some great plays in the field, and his arm is developing nicely. He is struggling at the plate, timing and getting his hips/legs into the swing. We continue to work on him, there's a diamond under there somewhere just waiting to shine.

8th and final game of the week complete this AM. Tys team played the other 12u Edison team, and they handled their business with their 2nd run rule after 5. Ty went 3for3, back to back homers and a single. They went 3-0 on the week with one game rained out after 2 innings. They were up when called and will resume play as soon as it's rescheduled.

Wyatts team went 3-1, losing to one of the other 8u Edison teams. He finally found a bat that works for him and has been on a good hitting streak the last 3 games.

Ty's team wrapped up the regular season with a 10-3 record and enter the year end tournament as #3 seed. His pitching is decent, but he's not enjoying that as much as catching he says and it shows. He likes throwing guys out stealing lol. His bat is HOT and enters the July 20th HR derby as the #1 seed along with the speed competition. He and Wyatt will both play in their respective All-Star games that same day. Wyatts last game is tonight, they're currently 6-2-2 and also enter the tournament as the #3 seed.

And that's a wrap! 11hrs of baseball yesterday to get thru 8U,10U, 12/14U home run derby, speed competition and All-Star games.

This was our 1st year doing an event like this I handled the music all day to keep things fun and festive, while another buddy did all of the announcing. Dunk tank and concessions pulled in some good extra $ for our youth sports program too.

To my surprise, the 8U division had the best turnout, the most energy, and the closest game. Those little buggars had a blast, along with the fans! Wyatt didn't get any over the fence, landed middle of the pack in the speed competition, and did his part in the game.

Ty also didn't get any over the fence, but came out on top in the speed competition and pitched & caught a great game. We used this opportunity to get the 12U in front of 14U pitchers for the first time😆
