Normally I hunt the BEANS for the opener. But ,as those of you in central Ohio have noticed, the beans have turned early this year. This make me ponder trying out the CORN for the opener. What do you think? Any thoughts, ideas, or obervations will be appriciated.

They those acorns are dropping. I have a couple spots lined up for opening day with oaks on the edge of an alfalfa field.

If you have the option, one way would be have someone drive you in a truck, quad or on a tractor right to where you walk in, only if permissible though.

Here in central ohio we'll be lucky to have either come opening day.

This is a very true point. I think I'd hunt whats available. Once beans go brown I don't see many deer hitting them unless its after a good rain. Ever try one after they are dry? Kinda like a chalky peanut.

A fence row separating standing corn fields are an awesome spot to catch a mature buck before dark. Find a larger tree to help break up your outline. Get in it at mid day and stay down wind if at all possible.

I have beans that are still
green with a feeder full of corn on the edge of the bean field. Have a blind 30 feet from the feeder. They are hitting it hard everyday have them on trail cam, should be fun opening day[emoji3]
