Best Boots for warmth?

Big surprise here, but I do the exact opposite of most of what's been posted. I wear 2000 gram Cabelas comfort tracks with sock liners and wool socks. Once it gets below 30 degrees I'll add in some toastie toes. Sweating doesn't seem to be my problem unless I have very long walks into my stand locations. I do agree with a looser fit helping and keeping them off of cold hard surfaces.

Welcome to TOO Hunter.

I use Irish Setter 1200 gram boots and a pair of Bass Pro Lifetime Socks. Seems to take care of it for me.

My favorite and most comfortable pair of hunting socks to date! Warm, soft and comfortable and had 'em for about 3 or 4 years now...Matched with my Guide Gear 1400 gram thinsulate, Giant Timber II boots (14" high)...laced up loosely to keep the blood flowing and I'll wear this combo well past muzzy season through the end of hunting year.

Holy balls Schu-man! I thought you were talking for frigid days then you said you add the toastie toes once below 30? How do you stand it? You must have circulation like my grandma (God rest her soul.)

LOL...I know its crazy. Cold feet used to be why I couldn't pull long sits. Now I'm golden.

Cheap carpet zip-tied to the bottom of your stand does wonders for quiet and warmth.

The other thing would be an extra seat pad for your feet. I use an extra seat pad in my stands. Never seem to remember to bring one for my feet though. I have heard they do well to keep the feet warm.

Those boot blankets help with insulating your feet from the cold metal stand. In addition I have found them to be excellent for battling moisture. Most of the time my boots get wet from walking in the woods, grass, mud, crossing creeks etc. When I climb my stand my boots squeak on the platform. Putting on the blankets eliminates this.

I have even stalked in them they actually dampen the crunching of the leaves.

I wore a nice pair of guide gear silent stalkers during the first deer gun weekend, with just a regular pair of white boot socks....they helped immensely with the crunchy leaves...plus it wasn't too cold that weekend
