Cant go wrong with a Foodsaver vac sealer.... MIne is at least 10 years old and still gets the job done... Heck some stuff I've sealed has even proven to keep a Sasquatch out... :ROFLMAO: At any rate good luck with your new toy Jesse....

I found a new but missing the box Weston PRO-2300 at a Pawn Shop today for $ 145.

Now its time to go bag shopping.
Nice find. It's a great sealer - you'll love it. I get my bags off Amazon - FoodVacBags is the name they are sold under. Always had good luck with them and my 2300 - only ever had a few fail in all the years I've used them.

I tried out my Weston PRO2300 last night. I can simply say I was very pleased over its performance as compared to my old Black & Decker unit.
This may have been my best purchase this year. I used some of the Zip Lock brand roll bags that I previously had. They were struck with a 5 mm seal in 3 seconds. Impressive!

nice find, Buckmaster. that is practically identical to the Cabela's brand sealer I bought new in 2004 for $299. probably made in the same factory. best money I have ever spent. the wide seal is much nicer than the thin line you get with the cheaper sealers. the only thing I've done to mine besides clean it is replace the Teflon tape (extra pieces came with the unit) covering the heat strip. I've sealed thousands of bags with it. best thing about these is that you can replace the heat strip or other parts as they are all available from Weston. indispensable piece of equipment if you hunt, fish, garden, make sausage, etc.

we used to buy bags and rolls by the case and split with friends to save money, but the best per bag prices I've found are on Amazon, most are prime eligible and I usually only have to by a couple hundred at a time instead of 1200.
