I have grown to hate big deer. I used to love seeing them and reading the stories. Now I see how they change a community and hurt the locals. I used to cringe a little back when
@bowhunter1023 would use the two words "industry and career". Now when I read them words I notice I'm clenching my teeth. They are so spot on for this thing I still call a tradition and I refuse to let go. It was so much more fun when we hunted for ourselves and size really didn't matter. Back when we celebrated spikes and forks. I just told a group of guys last night that I might shoot a spike with my son this week, just to do it. The memories that'll come from that will be epic and that's what I'm trying to show him. Not screwing your buddy over a few inches of bone. Life fucks me enough, I don't need to add karma/bad juju.
I guess I went on a little rant...enjoy gun week folks. Shoot that forkie and be proud enough to share it! Don't forget to verify your guns today! You want to know that it was buck fever that made you miss that basket rack
