Tomorrow, will be my first trip out on Erie this year. I got a good jig report, not looking forward to 30* boat ride, insulated coveralls and hand warmers will be needed. Hoping it warms up so I can get my boys out on the boat as well.
We went out this afternoon caught ten jumbo perch and a handful of catfish and a sheep head. We were using light weight poles, never seen a dock demon with a regular zebco 33 bend like that. I let the boys net each others fish while I coached em, we got some more work to do. Not a productive perch day, but the boys said they had blast.
Went out alone and caught 5 perch with 15mph south west wind, struggled to anchor and got bounced around like a bath toy, only day I could get out this week, still beats working.
Went up North to a small lake in Michigan, caught somewhere around 30 fish and six different species. I wish I would taken pics with the black crappie and perch I caught with a crank bait.
I haven’t perch and walleye fished much this summer due to various reasons, but have had the best bass fishing summer of my life. I caught a half a dozen this size, another great day on a small inland lake
Rough day on Erie, my buddy hit a single limit in about an hour yesterday, so we tried today after looking at our weather apps. Our weather apps were off (showed single digit mph out of the north and waves 1 ft), we battled 2 and 3 footers all morning, wind just kept picking up. My boys did catch their first walleye each, so not a total loss.
