Had a good weekend lots of stands hung and ready. Was able to check a few cams that I was expecting to much from I guess. But on a side note my daughter shot her first squirrel Monday night. I'm ready to see her sling an arrow at a whitetail now.
Well my season has taken. Little bit of a different turn as if right now. Recently some longtime friends have ran into some problems and are getting a divorce. This is a couple that we have ran with since high school and still get together with pretty regular to have pizza and beer. Well my wife came home and told me their son who is 9 is taking it pretty hard. So I talked to his mom tonight and asked if he would like to go hunting with me this season. Something to look forward to and take his mind off everything. I told her I don't want him going down the wrong road. I never had to deal with my parents splitting but I have had friends that it was hell on. I plan on calling his dad and asking him also. he doesn't hunt but has taught him to shoot so I'm gonna try to include him in on it also. So as of right now my first half of the season looks like it's gonna go all to him and my daughter.
Good on you man. It ain’t about us, it’s about doing the right thing and the future. Two thumbs up, sounds to me like your season is starting out a success already!
I ended up dumping corn on the new farms to try and get pics of what's around. But I still haven't got the deer on cam that I glassed one night. The acorns are crazy and having about 300 acres of corn behind it isn't helping.
Got a few cameras to check this week before season. Gonna try to get them done tomorrow. Heres are a few pics from yesterday's pull. My daughter is amped up ready to go. Just not sure where we are going opening morning. The buck that I've watched for 2 years now is still in velvet as of the 23rd so we may have a chance a r a velvet buck Saturday night.
Things are gonna get interesting in the next few weeks. Seen some great bucks this weekend and new ones showing up every day. My buddy shot that velvet buck bit barley grazed him we looked hard but I don't believe he's dead. Here's an update on some of the cams.
