So what this heck is this? A hawk or falcon of some kind I assume....
It hangs out in the neighborhood and I was able to get a pic out the kitchen window yesterday.

Cooper's hawk. They're an ascipiter, meaning they hunt other birds. Very common in residential neighborhoods since there's usually an abundance of bird feeders, making a target rich hunting area.
