Thanks Milo, I really like getting the cameras out early and on the scrapes to see what's out there, seems like I am at that point where I have been lucky enough to take some good bucks over the years that I just like to try and hold out for one or two certain bucks, not saying it is easy to let some walk but just figure if I have my tag at the end of season they will just be bigger next season, heading out this afternoon and tomorrow to try and get on the split brow or the big 6x6 but you never know just have to have a lot of patience, Hope one shows up soon as I just got 10 dozen snares delivered and will start working on the yote population after the holidays are over so will be juggling coyotes and bow hunting.

Made it out friday afternoon and had 3 small bucks hang out under me for awhile.Was a good evening to be out.Last 2 sits and have had 7 bucks come by just no shooters and no does either.Still fun to be out and see some antlers.

Have you tried corn piles this time of year? If you really pile it up in a good location, using the wind as your guide. It can really draw those does. With does, the bucks will follow. It takes some work, but it can pay a big return.

Thanks Ron, I do have some corn out now and they are starting to hit it pretty good, I am going out tomorrow to put some corn and soybeans down I got a good deal on from a farmer friend I will also check the cameras I have out, I will stick it out till the end but am also going to start my coyote snares after the holidays are over, I Am getting anxious to catch some yotes it seems like the snaring takes a little time away from my hunting but will still be out there every chance I get, Some of those other bucks sure start looking good this time of year but am going to try and stick it out for one of the big boys.
Made it out Monday and put some more corn and beans out, they are hitting it pretty hard and also checked the cameras and had some nice pics, None of the big boys but hope one shows up, pretty cool pics of the two bucks fighting, The one is an old 6x3 the other is the one I call splits a nice 11 point, Would be tempted to take him but just think he could really blow up next year, Heading back out tomorrow and fri and sat but looks like wet and warm, If I don't see or get pics of the big guys in a few weeks I will be setting my coyote snares so may decide to try and take out the old 6x3 in January,Not sure just stubborn and holding out for one of the big boys,LOL

Now this big old doe may go down if I get the chance.She is one of thise old does that just doesn't miss anything.You all have probably dealt with one at some time in your outings.She cost me a shot at a mid 180 class buck last season.Was moving to get the shot and didn't see her off to my side and she nailed me.She just circles downwind and watches everything while the other deer eat.Yea the more I see that 180 class buck in my mind the more I want to take her out.lol

Have not checked my cameras in awhile as have been busy trying to get rid of some yotes.Made it out yesterday evening and saw 3 small bucks and last Friday saw 6 bucks a few small ones and one descent one and just at dark in the CRP field saw a big guy get up but he shed his left side and pretty sure it was the split brow buck, Have to make time tomorrow or Sunday and try and check my cameras there also, The pics here are of a few bucks and the one I call splits, Have passed on him this year and glad he is still around as he will be 4.5 next season and should put on some inches.Will try and get out several more times before season goes out and maybe see a shooter if not it was still a pretty nice season with some good encounters and chances at some nice bucks just not my target buck, Guess that's why we keep at it cause you never know.
