Broadcasting corn.... Chronicles of Blue Spruce Outfitters

Well, the broadcasted corn at "Brandon's Plot" seems to be doing rather well, the rains definitely helped. Thin in some spots, thick in others but this is the deal with not using the planter. Going to be over seeding a turnip mix in between and the thin spots come early August. Just put out 200# of Milorganite today.

"Lone Pine" plot soybean/ corn/ sorghum mix is also coming up after just two days! Put another 200# of Milorganite in that plot. Hoping we get some great growth out of it this year. That plot has been a clover plot for the last two years so plenty of organic matter in it. Fingers crossed! Can't wait til deer season!

BSO Update 8/12/18:

It's warm. And dry. We need rain bad here but, the food plots must not know it. Lol.

The corn in "Brandon's Plot" is probably 7-8', all tasseled and almost every stalk has ears on it. Pretty good for a broadcasted, disked in, no Roundup plot! The edge 1/8 acre also is growing in some Merit Seed brassica mix. Pretty excited!

"Lone Pine" grew like a weed and now it looks more like a corn plot than a soybean plot. Beautiful corn/ forage bean mix for the later season. Plus, the bonus of finishing building my son a tower so we could hunt more often together, dubbed "Lucas' Tiny Tower".

The other perennial plots are growing like weeds and need to be mowed.
