I fully committed to buying one right before I attended strouds this year. Quite pleased with the unit since my original intention was to utilize it for more than just heat. I ran the thing through its paces, giving it what I consider a solid field test down there at deer camp. I never owned one before and it was the first time being around one in my life. I never got cold the whole time I ran the thing, both at camp and during gun week.

Now that I have multiple ground blinds, I do believe that my tree climbing days may be numbered even though I'm in great physical shape today, plus, I do prefer being at ground level for certain hunting setups/applications.

I had some heat tape in stock, so I applied some of it around the plastic carrying handle and more down along each side of the heat output area, from the top down to below the grill section that I use when I wish fry up some food, or heat up food, and/or utilize the 'VODA' heat thermal powered stove fan to circulate the heated air much better than what the buddy battery operated fan does, and that 'VODA' DOES a heck a lot better job pushing out the hot air without any noise at all in comparison.

I'm pleased with the unit that I have for heat now. Glad that I finally decided to buy one. I do believe that the brand new buddy heaters available today are constructed very well, quite durable and of decent quality. I do use both the smaller propane bottles and any of the bigger propane tanks that I have. It all depends on what I intend on using it for that will determine which fuel tank or tanks I use.

Nice love getting inside them from what I've seen. Not so happy when you pull them out though. 😅

@Hedgelj it's a metal roller paint strainer for 5 gallon buckets, that's what it is, and it works perfectly.

Also, pick up aluminum deflective heat tape too if you have none and do what I did, or you'll start to melt the plastic shell of the unit nearest to the output and handle when the heater is turned up to medium or high.
