Cabela's To Build Store In Delaware County

The supplemental infalstructure and businesses around one Cabelas store in Wheeling is simply amazing. Which once was nothing is now a business hub.

It is astounding. We were there for the Grand Opening and then again this past summer. Simply unreal what has transpired as a result...

I guess it'll be closer than Wheeling or Dundee for me... but I'm a little disappointed... I was hoping they'd build one here near Medina, right along 71.

they sent out random surveys to see where everyone wanted a store located....Did you not get one? lmao:smiley_clap:...sorry i had too:smiley_arrogant:

Man, that's a two hour drive to Charelston, Wheeling, and now the one in Columbus. Maybe Bass Pro will put one in Marietta and steal all their business! lol

This is awesome news. Can't wait until they get it opened up.

Years ago rumor was they thought about building one in Mansfield.

It was actually going to go alpng 71 and 97 right outside of Bellville. That fell through. Now that is going to be the location for the worlds largest Subway.

hmmm...I was told they was looking at some ground up on walker lake rd. Something about taking out the Super K building and building the Cabelas there.

Fairly risky investment considering alot of Ohio hunters are noticing a dwindling deer population. This will definetly add pressure to DOW keep deer hunting in Ohio thriving.

Great hunting is a by product of limited hunting in which draws more hunters. Its exploited then ruined. I think Ohio is in the Exploitation phase right now.

I don't think it is a risky move. Something tells me the Cabelas higher ups did plenty of number crunching before their decision was made. They will make plenty of money whether the deer hunting in Ohio is at the top or if it is at the bottom. The ones losing money will be ODOW. Lost income from less tags purchased and less out of state hunters coming in will hurt them worse than Cabelas. Not that our NR tags are expensive, but the number purchased will be reduced as time goes on. Inevitable.

We've been hearing Cabelas coming to the Cincy area for the last 7 years.......Fugg! Prolly never happen now.

Yeah I'd heard that they were looking at the Austin Pike interchange off I75 south of Dayton - that would have been a dream, 7 mins from me. Oh well.....good excuse to go to Columbus now.

I just wish they would have put it right by the new casino on the west side. I could walk there on my lunch break....

I could not agree with you more. Maybe it's me but I have seen more deer in the last 2 years than I have in 20. Cabelas is way bigger than just catering to deer hunters.

Phil, it's been that long since you've seen a troll, so you figured that merited a good response? Come on bro

It really is. I've really never been to the other stores up there besides Quaker Steak to eat before heading back home but the number of stores that are there because of Cabela's is crazy. In alot of ways I wish they would have built it down here close to home but that might have turned into a bad financial situation for me. lol I'm due for a trip up there now. Between gift cards and Cabela's bucks I've got $550 worth of gear to buy.
