Camo Clothing Help

Hope you guys can help me out on finding some new camo for Allen for his birthday. I'm not looking to break the bank and go the Sitka route but my goal is to find a real good jacket built for bowhunting that is quiet with some insulation (October/November Ohio weather). I don't know what brands are out there anymore and searches on Amazon, google, etc. just drive me nuts. So that is where I am hoping you guys can point me in the direction of some camo clothing lines that may fit the need. Would also look at getting matching pants. Any new camo patterns out there you guys like as well?

The wooltimate line from Cabelas would probably fit the bill. Quiet, windproof, and warm.

Another option would be one of the Milwaukee M12 heated jackets. Since they come with a battery and offer heat at the push of a button, it's a jacket that has much more "cool factor" than most other jackets... perfect for a gift.

I’ve got a set of Nomad soft shell pants and jacket that I really like. Light enough for “chilly” weather and easy to layer when it’s colder. It’s also waterproof. I bought the pants 1 size larger so I can layer up pretty good under them

Great call on not buying him the best of the best. He’s still growing so at most you only need to get 2 years out of the stuff.

I’d take him shopping with a price point. He’s old enough to know what he likes, and with a little guidance, this could be a great learning curve. I think most cloths nowadays will fit the 2 year mark. Good luck finding a face mask to cover his nose though. Might need to invest in a gallon of paint! 😂 (be sure to use that line when you take him. He will know who said it.)

I like the looks of the Wooltimate stuff. Wonder if it is heavy as wool usually is?

I’d suggest getting a good base layer system, then you won’t have to break the bank on camo. Get a soft camo like fleece, but the stuff that repels burrs and stickers. With a good base layer and quiet camo, maybe with wind stopper, you should be all set.

That's kind of what I am thinking as well at this point. A good camo he can wear early and then add layers as the season goes on maybe. Tough finding a good jacket that has decent pockets and quiet on the draw without getting covered in burrs. Wind stopper is a good idea too but don't most of those usually end up being noisy?

With wind stopper, you have to try it on...I have windstopper in my ravenwear and it’s quiet...but the windstopper in my cabelas sweater is noisy.

I've had one of those Milwaukee jackets since the first year they came out. Honestly I've hardly ever used the battery. Only when hunting late season.
