I stay patient and give anyone involve with logistics and distribution the benefit of the doubt.
My patience stops at my wallet. These companies have had over a year to figure out their issues and adapt to this new landscape, yet they seem to suck more and more each day. "Due to the corona virus" is an excuse that is wearing mighty thin, especially since everyone has found it to be such a convenient excuse for everything. Not receiving added service on an pay for added service model from a guy who figured out how to hitch a ride to space. Yeah not buying it. :ROFLMAO: My problem ends with paying the bill, theirs begins with delivering the promised service.

As our GM of sales likes to say when they put some BS in a contract to get it signed and someone from fulfillment complains
"That's not a sales problem, it's a delivery problem"

Haven't you started a bunch of threads/comments about Lowes and Home Depot sucking? How's that fall in place here? For the past few years all we have heard was how stores suck and Amazon is badass.

They have and still do suck. Just for different reasons. Lowes and home depot are shit because they're operating as a massive conglomerate brick and mortar but in many ways are nothing more than an internet retailer with a ship to store option. I.e. why would I buy a stove from them when they have to order it online and there's a three-week wait for it to arrive at the store, when I can literally do that myself and have it delivered to my home in less time. Amazon is sucking in a different area which is charging for an expedited 2-day delivery service then holding the product for 4 days before shipping. Even if it took Amazon 14 days to get me that stove they still beat lowes or home dipshit.

So a little update on the Frigidaire cooktop from Amazon that arrived damaged and I've been trying to get a part for since April. Amazon told me it's beyond the return window, so last week I ordered another one with the intent to swap the part and return it. Dishonest I know but it's been 5 months and they're again telling me another 60 days on the grate. The new one arrived open box, damaged and missing parts also. Luckily the part I needed was not damaged. You can't just return it without chatting or talking to them So I called Amazon to tell them it arrived open and damaged. She offered to replace it. I told her it was the second one that arrived damaged. She stated that she understood and refunded the purchase. Then told me to just throw it away.:oops: $698 cooktop and just "throw it away". At first I felt bad about it. I didn't have any intention of getting something beside what was owed to me. Then I thought about it, If I would have originally required a return instead of calling the "Please don't return to store" number, they would have written the first one off anyway. So I guess it worked out as now I have my own complete parts appliance.

This is interesting because Amazon sells returns in what they call the "Amazon" warehouse. They're inspect it and if nothing is missing or damaged beyond usability they resell it. So that tells me Amazon is well aware that parts are near impossible to get and it's cheaper to just write it off.

Yep, all part of the warranty strategy. If no service kits, then full replacement, if no full replacement, full alternate, if no comparable alternate then a substitute. When all said and done....don't bother returning, just DIF (destroy in field). Sad, but its cheaper these days.......awesome ya got a full cook top now lol!

We had an issue with a bissel floor scrubber. Came in unboxed and it was used. Still had pet hair in the container. We touched base with the retailer, they sent a new one overnight delivery. Told us too throw the other one away…. WTF? It’s now residing at our daughters home….

Yet another good reason to abandon Amazon. From what I have seen things are rarely cheaper on Amazon anymore. I often find that Ebay has far better prices. Case in point I need to locate a dozen sprinkler valves and potentially some broken wires. Same equipment new on Ebay vs Amazon. A difference of about $47

Screw ebay. Everytime I buy there, I look for an American seller. I want .y money in the states. Many have a warehouse in the US and trick you. Inevitably, I get extra charges for "foreign currency exchange". It has happened several times. Deceptive. And I don't think they are much cheaper most times.

Same with Rock Auto. A few years ago they were blowing people away on prices. Now they are on par with the rest.

Makes me think this is the design of their long term business model. Run for 10+ years with dirt cheap prices and impeccable shipping time… get the consumers habituated into thinking it’s the cheapest option of all… then slowly increase prices and decrease customer service while the consumers keep blindly clicking and checking out. It’s genius, really. You’d think it would eventually come crashing down though.

I can't say for sure this is the strategy, but it is "A" strategy. Not uncommon for a big gas station to come into a small town, sell below gas cost, push the local mom and pop gas station out of business, then gradually increase prices. Doesn't hurt when they don't have to pay taxes. Just saying, that was a strategy used to push the mom and pop gas stations out. I'd guess the CVS/Rite Aid/Walgreens have done similar to local pharmacies. Walmart, Target, Meijer have done it to local convenience stores. Makes sense the Rock Auto's of the world would do the same.

In regards to Amazon specifically? There are plenty of retailers on there. Who is to say Amazon hasn't steadily increased their fees in order to push more of the Amazon sold products? Bastards. Lol

I may be in the minority. I use Prime about 2-3 times a week. Monday I had a leak in my shower head/wand. Needed a special gasket. Had it the next day free shipping. I won’t buy unless it’s Prime free shipping. How else can you make that happen? Maybe it’s a location issue, I’m in Cbus and rarely have a shipping issue. Plus Prime movies are a bonus. I don’t have Netflix cause fuck Netflix….bunch of socialist commies. 😆

A great deal of the sellers on Amazon are Chinese with product in the Amazon warehouse in the states also.

Surprised about rock auto. Maybe it's my vehicle but they blow away the local napa, autozone etc.

Same here. I’ve always had really good luck with Rock Auto. It’s actually a site I almost always recommend to people.

They usually have 2-3 different lines or grades as Rock Auto. The economy line is sometimes a lot cheaper. Not always. Then add in the shipping. (Generally not fast). Back to the price you can drive to O'Reilly's or AutoZone. If you go for the middle or higher grade part they seem to be about the same.

Wife had a shelf in the amazon cart, she was waiting for the prime day to see if it was a little cheaper. It was, but the savings were added too the shipping cost….. $5 discount on the price of the cart, shipping went from $10 to $15.

..anyone else in a rural area that Amazon does this? They deliver to the USPS office, Amazon calls it delivered... then the post office dicks around with it for a couple days and unless you have an 'approved' mailbox 📬 out front USPS won't deliver. FedEx and UPS do thou...
